Solarpunk Architecture is a collaborative notebook and catalog of ideas about solar futures in architecture. You are invited to participate in building this open knowledge base by contributing your ideas, links, images and comments.
Why?
As a society we need to build with the Sun better.
Majority of energy in our households is used in ther form of heat. We do not need electricity for that. In fact, our planet gets more heat than we can possibly handle, therefore we need to stop producing excess of it. Developing better architecture and improving domestic culture can help.
Why punk?
Solar architecture is somewhat there already. Techno solutionism is flourishing, but it does not bring nearly enough change. We need culture to step in. We need social energy and personal energy, we need visions, experiments, some joy and kind fooling around.
Why forum?
In searches for a good way to catalogue links and resources for my research, I always wanted them to be as public and social as possible. Discourse with card-style UI seems to be a decent solution, letting me categorize and tag my content, and letting others find it or even contribute.
